Israel Tour Itinerary


February 19-20 – USA to Amman

  • Your journey begins as you depart the USA.
  • Arrive in Amman and transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

February 21 –  Mt. Nebo, Madaba, Bethany Beyond Jordan, and Dead Sea

  • Visit Mount Nebo, where Moses caught a glimpse of the Promised Land (Deut. 34). On a clear day, you can see all the way across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, to the rooftops of Jerusalem and Bethlehem.
  • Visit Bethany beyond the Jordan.
  • Enjoy an opportunity to take a dip in the mineral laden waters of the Dead Sea.
  • Check in to your Dead Sea hotel for dinner and overnight.

February 22 – Petra

  • Travel south from Amman for a visit to the city of Petra. Its entrance passes through a long, narrow gorge known as the Siq and can only be accessed by carriage, horseback, or on foot.
  • Once inside the city, marvel at the intricate detail of a city that was cut into the cliff sides of rose-colored rock.
  • Return to Dead Sea for overnight.

February 23 – Cross Into Israel to Galilee

  • Cross the Allenby Bridge into Israel.
  • Visit Beit Shean.
  • View the Jordan Valley as you journey to Mount Arbel with its stunning panoramic view of the Sea of Galilee, where most of Jesus’ ministry took place.
  • Enjoy beautiful Capernaum, the center of Jesus’ ministry, and visit the synagogue located on the site where Jesus taught (Matt. 4:13, 23).
  • In Magdala, once home to Mary Magdalene, visit a recently discovered first-century synagogue.
  • Check in to your Galilee hotel for dinner and overnight.

February 24 – Galilee

  • Visit Chorazin, the town cursed by Jesus because He did mighty works there and they “repented not” (Matt. 11:20-21).
  • Walk the ancient remains of Tel Dan and see where the alter built by King Jeroboam I once stood (1 Kings 12).
  • Visit Caesarea Philippi, where Peter told the Lord, “You are the Christ!” (Matt. 16).
  • Sail across the Sea of Galilee and experience a special onboard worship service.
  • On the Mount of Beatitudes, contemplate the “Sermon on the Mount” (Matt. 5-7).
  • Return to your Galilee hotel for dinner and overnight.

February 25 – Nazareth, Megiddo, and Caesarea

  • This morning, visit Nazareth, Jesus’ boyhood home (Matt. 2:23)
  • Travel the ancient caravan route through the Jezreel Valley to Tel Megiddo, an exciting archaeological dig with its layers of twenty different cities built on top of each other.
  • Visit the Roman Aqueduct and Theatre at Caesarea, a center of early Christianity and where Paul was imprisoned for two years.
  • Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

February 26 – Jordan River Valley and Masada

  • Ascend by cable care to Masada, Herod’s legendary mountaintop fortress which became the last desperate stronghold of the Jewish Zealots against the Romans.
  • Journey to the oasis of Ein Gedi, where David and his men sought refuge from Saul (1 Sam. 23)
  • Continue to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in 1947.
  • Check in to your Jerusalem hotel for dinner and overnight.

February 27 – Jerusalem

  • Explore Hezekiah’s Tunnel, an amazing feat that was dug from both ends and meets in the middle! (Note: Those who are claustrophobic may want to meet the group at the other end of the tunnel!)
  • Visit the Wailing Wall and continue on a walk through the Western Wall Tunnels along the foundations of the Temple Mount built by Herod.
  • Wander the streets of the Jewish Quarter and explore the Cardo, the ancient marketplace still alive with shops.
  • Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

February 28 – Yad Vashem, Mount of Olives, and Bethlehem

  • Explore the poignant exhibits of Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial.
  • Walk to the Garden of Gethsemane and pray beneath the ancient olive trees (Matt. 26:36-44).
  • Be inspired by the breathtaking beauty of Jerusalem (“the Golden City”) as you stand on the Mount of Olives, the place from which Jesus ascended into heave forty days after His resurrection (Acts 1:9-12).
  • In Bethlehem, visit the cave revered as Jesus’ birthplace and see the Church of the Nativity constructed over the site (Matt. 1:18-25).
  • Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

March 1 – Jerusalem

  • This morning, conditions permitting, stand on the Temple Mount where the Jewish Temple once stood and the Dome of the Rock now stands.
  • Visit the Garden Tomb for a time of reflection and communion.
  • Walk the Via Dolorosa, ” The Way of the Cross,” and stand in reverence at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
  • Visit the Southern Wall Excavations of the Temple, including the Teaching Steps.
  • Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

March 2 – Return Home
