Arrival Dates and Information

August 14: Dining Service Student Employees

  • Check-in time: Wednesday, August 14, 9:00 – 11:00am.
  • Check-in location: Centennial Atrium (located in the Nettleton Center). Here you will obtain your housing assignment and room keys so that you can move into your dorm room. Dining Service student employees will complete the remainder of their registration on August 15.
  • Dining Service Orientation begins on August 14, at 11:00 AM, with an optional light lunch served from 12:00pm –12:30pm.
  • Additional arrival details for Dining Service student employees will be communicated through email beginning on or around July 1, and any questions can be directed to the Director of Dining Services (hausnert@faith.edu or 515.422.5652).

August 15: All Fall Athletes

Students interested in participating in women’s volleyball, women’s soccer, men’s soccer, or cross country are required to attend tryout week (August 1525). 

  • Check-in Time: Thursday, August 15, starting at 1:00pm.
  • Check-in location:  Nettleton Center. Here you will complete your registration process and pick up your housing assignment before moving into your dorm room.
  • Student Athletes are required to attend the Welcome Session on August 15 at 3:30pm and the All Athletes Meeting at 6:30pm.
  • Athletes should be available each day between 6:00am and 10:00pm during tryout week for practices/tryout sessions. Specific sport schedules will be distributed at the meeting on August 15.
  • Registration Form: All fall athletes planning to participate in tryout week, need to fill out this athletic registration form
  • Athletic Fee: If you are selected to a sports team, an athletic fee will be billed to your account. This fee will be added to your school bill on August 28, unless other arrangements are made.
  • Athletic Physical: All incoming athletes must have had an athletic physical completed within the previous 12 months to participate in tryouts. Completed physical forms can be brought to athlete check-in in August or emailed to athletics@faith.edu prior to arrival on campus. Please have your physician use this form when receiving your physical.

August 19: SA Officers, Class Officers, and Deepen Group Leaders

  • Arrival: Student Leaders are to arrive on campus by August 19.
  • Student Leader Training will start August 20 at  9am – 11am. 
  • Student leaders who are not already on campus due to Dining Services employment or fall sports tryouts are to communicate with Student Life in advance regarding your expected arrival time and to arrange to pick up your dorm assignment and room keys.

August 22: All New Students (First-Time Freshman or Transfer Students)

  • Registration time: Thursday, August 22, from 1:00–3:30 PM.
  • Check-in location: Nettleton Center. Here you will complete your registration and pick up your housing assignment so that you can move into your dorm room.
  • The first orientation session starts on August 22 at 6:45 PM.

August 24: All Returning or Re-Entry Students

  • Registration time: Saturday, August 24, from 12:30–2:00 PM
  • Check-in location: Nettleton Center. Here you will complete your registration and pick up your housing assignment so that you can move into your dorm room.
  • Required Orientation Session: Saturday, August 24, at 2:30 PM in the Nettleton Gym

Helpful Parent Information

Parents are welcome and encouraged to join your first time student for orientation. Special sessions have been designated for parents Thursday night and Friday morning (August 22-23) that are practical and helpful as you assist in your student in transition to college. If desired, parents may stay through the remainder of Orientation. However, no specific parent sessions are offered after Friday morning.

  • What to Wear: Dress for arrival and orientation is casual, which is jeans and t-shirts. NO shorts or sweats please.
  •  Meals: Complimentary meals will be provided for parents, and families of new students during orientation. Please see the parent schedule for which meals this applies to.
  • Area Hotels: We have arrangements with local hotels for special rates. Just mention that you are a guest of Faith Baptist Bible College when you make your reservation.
