On Friday, February 25, Faith Baptist Bible College held its annual Guest Artist Concert in the Nettleton Center. An audience of over 270 music lovers was treated to Leah Barnett’s first solo concert in five years.

The concert was filled with a wonderful, operatic performance by Mrs. Barnett. She was accompanied by pianist Amanda Jones. Mrs. Barnett delighted the audience by singing three Austrian songs in German as well as three traditional hymns. She closed the night by astonishing the audience and singing her current favorite: “Goodnight Moon,” a traditional American lullaby based on the popular children’s book by the same name.

Mrs. Barnett was asked to speak at the end of the concert, and she talked about how the Lord had used music in her life. She finished by remarking, “I could tell you so many ways the Lord has blessed me through music.”

Mrs. Barnett has been married to Faith alumnus, David Barnett, (’05), for 12 years.  They reside in Kansas City, Missouri, with their two daughters, Ellie who is three and Gracie who is one.  Mrs. Barnett, who is a native of Lamoni, Iowa, is a private vocal and cello instructor.  Leah and David met  and were married at Fellowship Baptist Church in Des Moines, Iowa.
