Program Pathway
First Three Years
- Students take classes on Faith’s campus, gaining a firm biblical foundation and completing their prerequisites for Mercy’s accelerated 12-month nursing program.Â
- During their third year, students must apply for admission to Mercy’s accelerated B.S.N. program. Students then choose to begin the 12-month B.S.N. program as part of their Summer, Fall, or Winter classes.
Fourth Year
- Students continue to live on Faith’s campus while completing their Mercy B.S.N. courses, labs, and clinicals on Mercy’s campus—just a 20-minute drive from Faith.Â
- At the end of the program, students who have maintained the requisite GPAs will graduate from Faith with an Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mercy.
- Upon successful completion of the nursing requirements, students are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN exam).

Frequently Asked Questions
How will FBBC provide the prerequisite classes?
Faith has arranged for the prerequisite classes to be taught remotely. Classes will be assigned a time and classroom where the class will be taught by a remote instructor, with an FBBC teaching assistant.
Can I get financial aid from both colleges?
Students may only receive Federal Financial Aid and Iowa Tuition Grant (Iowa students only) for one institution at a time. To remain eligible, students must not complete a degree from either college until all the requirements for both are complete. Both FBBC and Mercy offer private institutional aid to assist students. Mercy One, as well as many other hospitals and clinics, offer post-graduation employment incentives and loan forgiveness for employees.
Can I work while a pre-nursing/nursing student?
During their first three years at Faith, students are encouraged to work in a healthcare setting as CNAs, medical technicians, unit clerks, etc., in order to gain experience in the medical field. Mercy College of Health Sciences offers grants for CNA training and offers jobs at their many Mercy One clinics and hospitals.
During their fourth year, students should plan to focus all their attention on their accelerated nursing classes and clinicals, without outside employment.
