Faith Baptist Bible College is grateful to welcome Bob Roberts as our Campus Spiritual Advisor. Through this new role, Faith is strengthening its commitment to the spiritual and personal development of our students by providing another trusted voice to come alongside them as they grow in their walk with Christ and prepare for a lifetime of ministry and service.

For Bob, that kind of personal investment has been a hallmark of more than two decades of ministry. He has served in pastoral ministry at Word of Life Slavic Baptist Church in Spartanburg, South Carolina, founded Kids4Truth, and spent 22 summers at The Wilds of North Carolina Christian Camp as assistant director of the junior camp program.

Bob Roberts and His FamilyBut perhaps one of the best introductions to Bob is the name the children at his church have given him: “Big Bob.” His ministry has extended well beyond preaching and teaching. He is known for staying after services to listen to a child’s story, offer a word of encouragement, share a hug or fist bump, or spend time counseling someone who needs help. It is a personal, people-centered approach to ministry that Bob will now bring to Faith.

At the heart of that ministry is a deep commitment to God’s Word. Bob describes his passion as helping young people “learn solid doctrine that perpetually points them to King Jesus, and to grasp the overarching, cohesive story of the Bible that resounds with the sweeping cosmic victory of Christ.”

As Campus Spiritual Advisor, Bob will build relationships across campus, with a particular focus on connecting with student leaders such as Resident Advisors and Deepen Group Leaders. He will also be available to students for biblical counsel, spiritual guidance, and the kind of personal conversations that have characterized his ministry throughout the years.

We are especially grateful that Bob and his family have chosen Faith for this next chapter of their lives. Bob, his wonderful wife, Sarah, and their 14-year-old daughter, Cadence Grace, are moving to Ankeny to become part of the Faith community and make Faith their new home.

We look forward to welcoming Bob, Sarah, and Cadence Grace to the Faith family, and we are grateful for the opportunity God has given us to have “Big Bob” encourage, disciple, and care for our students.
