ANKENY, Iowa–Faith Baptist Bible College is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Michael Thomas as Chair of the Organizational Leadership program. Thomas holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Colorado and a master’s degree in ministry from International Baptist College and Seminary.
Since 1989, Thomas has filled various engineering and management positions in the Boulder County Public Works Department. He is highly skilled in organization, project development, and employee relations. He describes himself as possessing “a passion for teaching and mentoring others.” Reflecting on the trajectory of his professional career, Thomas said, “I continued to take and develop opportunities to learn, grow, and teach those I worked with, including helping younger professionals. It was with that passion that I saw myself becoming more of a teacher than an engineer.”
In addition to extensive experience in organizational leadership and employee mentorship, Mr. Thomas brings with him a heart for ministry. He has been a long-time member of Tri-City Baptist Church in Westminster, Colorado, where he has served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher and deacon. He has been married to his wife, Lori, for over 39 years, and they have two adult children and five grandchildren.
When asked what excites him about this new opportunity to teach at Faith, Thomas replied,
“As the Lord has led us to Faith, we realize His preparation and calling on me to serve Him in this role. What can be more exciting than to work in a position that not only answers His call but also allows for using the gifts and abilities He has given? I have sensed a wonderful spirit on the campus of Faith and look forward to working with the great people I have not only met but also heard of.”
We are thankful that the Lord continues to send us God-focused, eternity-minded, servant-hearted leaders to teach and mentor our students. We eagerly anticipate the arrival of Michael and Lori Thomas to Ankeny this summer.
