How to Apply & Audition
1. Apply to Faith
Complete your application for admission to Faith Baptist Bible College.
2. Schedule Your Audition
- In-person auditions are preferred. Students are especially encouraged to audition during an official Scholarship Weekend in November or April.
- In-person auditions may also be scheduled during an individual campus visit or another approved audition opportunity.
- Tier I and Tier II consideration requires an in-person audition.
- If an in-person audition is not possible, students may request approval from the Music Department to submit a remote audition for Tier III consideration.
3. What to Prepare
- Prepared Piece: Prepare one solo piece (classical or sacred) that best demonstrates your tone quality, technical capability, and artistic musicality.
- Sight-Reading & Rhythm: You will be given a short sight-reading or rhythmic assessment by the faculty to evaluate basic musicianship and reading skills.
- Scales / Pitch Check: Be prepared to perform basic scales or a vocal range check to determine pitch accuracy, vocal or instrumental range, and tonal flexibility.
4. Complete Your Audition
The Music Department uses a standardized audition process to evaluate each student.
Auditions consider:
- Musical ability and preparation
- Musical potential
- Instrumental or vocal strengths
- Current and projected ensemble needs
- Anticipated contribution to the ensemble program
The goal is to find the right students for the right ensembles while building strong, balanced performing groups at Faith.
5. Receive Your Financial Aid Package
Following the audition, the Music Department will make scholarship recommendations to the Financial Aid Office.
The scholarship will be incorporated into your overall institutional financial aid package.
