Dennis Daggett came to Faith Baptist Bible College in 1972 through the influence of his pastor and his best friend— and left in 1977 with a Bible degree, a life verse, and a wife. It was at Faith that he met Cindy Peche (Pecky) from Wisconsin, whom he calls the greatest blessing in his life outside of salvation. It was also at Faith, after a post-game locker room talk from a missionary, that Dennis found the verse that would anchor every decision he and Cindy would make together: “Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established” (Proverbs 16:3).
Dennis had arrived intending to go into full-time ministry, but as he sought God’s will honestly, it became clear that God was leading him elsewhere… back to the farm in Iowa. The years that followed were marked by real hardship: crop failures, a devastating loss in their hog operation, and the death of their firstborn son, Jason.
Through it all, Dennis and Cindy held on to the conviction that they were in God’s will. When the Lord moved them, He opened a door with the USDA in Kansas City, where Dennis became a technical writer. Eventually, he co-founded a crop insurance company in 1984, launching a forty-year career that took him to the highest levels of the insurance industry across multiple states.

Colleagues in the C-suite were often surprised to learn Dennis had earned a Bible degree, not a business one. He never saw that as a limitation. “The best business education one can have is a Bible degree,” he says.
Today, Dennis and Cindy continue to serve in their local church, grounded in the same commitment they made decades ago: to seek God’s will, stay faithful, and finish well.
Their advice to students is simple and hard-won: after salvation, seek God’s will earnestly. Stay in the Word. Be a humble servant. And finish well.
As Dennis looks ahead, his greatest desire is to echo the words of Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7 — “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
