Prepare for a Career in the Classroom
Have a passion for the classroom? Love being around kids? This might be the major for you! Graduates of the Elementary Education program at Faith are qualified to teach and impact kids, both in Christian and public schools. Our graduates are in high demand and are currently teaching all over the world.
Accredited Education Program
Faith is approved by the Iowa Department of Education, which means our graduates are eligible to receive Iowa teacher licensure. Our students consistently perform well on the Praxis exams. All of the 2020-22 program graduates had a 100% pass rate on their first Praxis 2 exam attempts!
Endorsements
The Education Program at Faith is authorized by the Iowa Department of Education to offer five endorsements, many of which you can earn by taking online classes. Taking these courses will add to your credentials and may also satisfy continuing education requirements.

Program Objectives
Each student will:
- Understand the structure, content, and central concepts of his or her selected discipline and create learning experiences that make these aspects of subject matter meaningful
- Understand how students develop and learn and provide experiences that support the development of those learners
- Understand the instructional process and implement teaching strategies and assessments based on knowledge of subject matter, students, and curricular goals
- Understand individual and group motivation and behavior and use this knowledge to create an environment conducive to learning
- Comprehend communication theory and techniques and convey ideas and information effectively in the teaching-learning process
- Understand the Christian teacher’s role as a professional in the church, school, and the broader community and strives to make a positive impact by serving others

I loved building relationships with the faculty, staff, and students on campus. Faith prepared me well because I was under such rich, consistent teaching from Scripture every single day. Because of my Bible degree portion, I have the knowledge to teach students well and I have a greater love for God’s Word that spills over into my classroom.
