For senior Audrey Glandon, volleyball has been more than just a sport; it has been a cornerstone of her college experience. This year’s trip to nationals with the Faith Eagles was particularly meaningful, marking the second consecutive year—and the third in her four years at Faith—that the team earned their spot on the national stage.
Audrey’s love for volleyball started early. Growing up in Arizona, she learned the game under the guidance of her first coach—her mom. Audrey has been playing volleyball since the young age of 10. Her career started out with a sole focus of competition, but Faith has shown her that volleyball can also be a platform to live out her faith.
“What sets Faith apart is the people,” Audrey says. “We love Jesus first, and we show it on the volleyball court.”
Nationals in 2024 brought its share of challenges. “We were nervous going in and disappointed that we didn’t win anything,” Audrey admits. “But it doesn’t mean we didn’t deserve to be there. It was the best volleyball we’ve ever played.”
Through it all, Audrey credits her coaches and teammates for making her time on the team so impactful. Coach Lanny’s ability to adapt to the team’s unique dynamics each year and Coach Erin’s relational leadership style helped shape her experience. Audrey also cherishes the managers and teammates who stood by her, turning each season into an unforgettable chapter of her life.
As she looks to the future, Audrey carries with her the lessons she learned on and off the court. Volleyball at Faith wasn’t just about wins or losses—it was about growing in her faith, building lasting friendships, and learning how to glorify God in every aspect of life. For Audrey, Faith has been more than volleyball – it has been a transformative journey that she’ll carry into her next chapter of life.
