Honor Band Festival 2026

The goal of the FBBC Honor Band Festival is to provide an exceptional ensemble experience for high school student musicians, giving them the opportunity to perform together with others of like faith

During the one-day festival, students will develop their skills through rehearsals and clinics. The culminating event will be a concert that features the Honor Band presenting a wide variety of the finest music.

High school students may apply for membership in the Honor Band. The audition deadline is Friday, January 30, 2026. Auditions will be reviewed by February 2nd. Music will then be sent to each accepted member, via email for practice prior to the festival.

Students who are selected will be expected to pay a fee of $25 (will be available online and at check-in) to cover the cost of meals and a T-shirt.

Audition materials are submitted through a Google form (requires sign-in), with one form per student audition. Applications will be accepted at a later date if openings exist in specific sections.

Honor Band Application Form

Music teachers: You can complete the form on behalf of your student, but note we require student name, email, address, graduation year and birth date in order to keep data organized in our system. Thank you in advance!

Woodwind and Brass students are asked to record the following:

1. Selected portions of a prepared solo or etude (preferably showing contrasting styles),
2. Chromatic scale (two octaves when possible).

Percussion auditions should include at least two of the following:

1. Concert Snare Drum Etude or Solo
   1. Recommended collections include: Peters, Cirone, and Deléclus(demonstrate your ability to play snare drum)
2. Keyboard (Marimba, Vibraphone, Xylophone, or Glockenspiel; 2 or 4 mallet)
   1. Selected portions of a prepared solo or etude (demonstrate your ability to play mallets)
   2. Chromatic scale (two octaves)
3.  Timpani
   1. Perform a glissando roll ascending and descending through the full range of the your choice of drum
   2. Tune to a Bb and F
