Homecoming Weekend at Faith Baptist Bible College: A Celebration of Legacy and Community
We had a beautiful fall weekend for Homecoming 2024! As the leaves began to change, FBBC welcomed the bustling activity of sporting events, a market, and the classic Ya’gatta Regatta. This annual celebration brought alumni together to reminisce on their past days as fellow students and share about their current lives and ministries.
On Friday, our men’s soccer team shut out Central Christian College of the Bible 2-0, and the women’s volleyball team followed that with a 3-0 win over Marshalltown Community College. The alumni had some competitive games of volleyball on Friday night and soccer on Saturday morning, and all three Faith teams competed again on Saturday. Women’s soccer had a convincing 3-1 win over rival Maranatha University, but the men’s team could not keep pace as they fell 3-0, also against Maranatha. The volleyball team battled closely with Mission University but ultimately were edged out 3-1. Both women’s teams also celebrated senior day with several senior athletes being honoured.
A new addition to the weekend was an Alumni Market! Local artisans offered their products from fresh baked breads and treats to intricate woodwork designs. Many alumni expressed how much they enjoyed the Saturday morning market.
We look forward to continuing these traditions so that alumni can reconnect with old friends and celebrate the impact that Faith Baptist Bible College has had on their lives!
