The hospitality room not only provides you with a variety of complimentary snacks and drinks, but also the perfect location to fellowship with others who can relate to the joys and struggles in ministry. Dr. Dan Anderson
Dr. Daniel Anderson has served as president of Appalachian Bible College since 1983. After receiving a Bible/Theology diploma from ABC, he completed undergraduate studies at Faith Baptist Bible College. He earned a Master of Divinity degree from Grace Theological Seminary while being ordained to the ministry and serving as a pastor. Dr. Anderson later earned a Master of Sacred Theology and Doctor of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. The passion of Dr. Anderson’s life and ministry has centered upon nurturing servants for the fields of the world. The motto of ABC, Because Life is for Service, captures his heart.
Dr. Kevin Bauder
As a teenager, Kevin Bauder lived across the street from Faith Baptist Bible College on NW Sharmin Drive. During those years he delivered newspapers both to former president Dr. John L. Patten and the then-current president, Dr. David Nettleton. He used to shoot frogs in a pond on the site now occupied by the Nettleton Center. During those years Kevin’s mother ran the campus bookstore and his father, a Faith student, graduated in 1973. Kevin graduated from Faith in 1979, then from Denver Baptist Theological Seminary in 1982 and 1983. He taught at Denver Baptist Bible College, pastored churches in Iowa and Texas, and has served since 1998 at Central Baptist Theological Seminary of Minneapolis.
Dr. Brent Belford
Brent Belford is the senior pastor of Colonial Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He joined the staff at CBC in June 2016. He and his wife Carissa moved to Virginia Beach from Minneapolis, Minnesota, along with their five children: Emma, Andrew, Eden and Chloe, and Levi. In Minneapolis, Brent served as the Provost of Central Seminary. Brent previously served as the Director of Northland Graduate School and an Assistant and Youth Pastor at Cross Lanes Bible Church in Cross Lanes, West Virginia.
Pastor Brent enjoys preaching and teaching Scripture, spending time with Carissa and their children, playing golf, and cheering for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He also enjoys developing future leaders of the church. His desire to serve the church and the academy has led him to complete doctoral degrees in pastoral ministries (D.Min., Northland International University) and New Testament studies (Ph.D., Ridley College, Melbourne). He currently serves as a faculty associate of Pastoral Studies at Virginia Beach Theological Seminary.
Dr. Douglas Brown
Dr. Douglas Brown is the Dean of Faith Baptist Theological Seminary and a professor within the college and seminary. Dr. Brown received his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary, his Master of Divinity from Central Baptist Seminary, and Ph.D. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Dr. Brown has many years of experience as a youth pastor and assistant pastor in Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois. He is an avid golfer and an unapologetic fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He and his wife, Tricia, live in Ankeny and have four children, two of whom attend Faith Baptist Bible College.
Mr. Tim Capon
After growing up in a religious and unsaved home, Tim came to Christ for salvation in 1983 at the age of 28 along with his wife Sandy. He responded to God’s call to the gospel ministry, left his profession as a civil engineer, and began his training for pastoral ministry at Faith Baptist Bible College. He served the Lord as a pastor for over 28 years in two Iowa churches. For the past six years Tim has been serving as the IARBC State Representative. He also serves on several boards including Faith Baptist Bible College, the GARBC Council of 18, and Men for Christ. God has blessed them with 43 years of marriage, 3 children, two sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law and 10 grandchildren. Tim enjoys grilling, camping, hiking, biking, and really enjoys turkey hunting with Sandy. He loves preaching and teaching the Word of God, helping churches, working with pastors, discipling new believers, and has a burden for families and reaching the lost for Christ.
Dr. Paul Hartog
Dr. Paul Hartog is the Chair of Theological Studies at Faith Baptist Theological Seminary and a professor within the college and seminary. Dr. Hartog has received numerous degrees including his Th.M. from St. Andrew’s Theological College, and his Ph.D. from Loyola University of Chicago. Dr. Paul has held assistant and associate pastoral positions within local churches and is also the Director of Library Services at Faith. He enjoys traveling with his sweetheart and family, visiting coffeehouses across the Des Moines metro, and researching the history of early Christianity.
Dr. Patrick Odle
Dr. Patrick Odle is the President of Baptist Mid-Missions. Before being called to BMM in 2020, Patrick served as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Elyria, Ohio, and Holmes Baptist Church of Clarion, Iowa, as well as the Youth Pastor of Ankeny Baptist Church of Ankeny, Iowa. Patrick also served as the Vice President of Enrollment and Student Life at Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary, his alma mater in Ankeny, Iowa. In 2020, he was given an honorary doctorate by Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary. In addition to his love for missions, God has given Patrick a great passion for expository preaching and the local church. The Lord has opened the doors for him to be able to preach at churches, conferences and camps in eight states and to minister on seven foreign mission fields.
Patrick Odle has been married to his high school sweetheart, Ruth, for over thirty years. God has blessed them with four children, ranging in age from 28 to 19, two amazing sons-in-law, and the cutest granddaughter in the world! In his free time Patrick unapologetically cheers on his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers football team and enjoys spending time outdoors, especially deer hunting.
Dr. Tim Sigler
Dr. Tim Sigler is Provost and Dean at Shepherds Theological Seminary (Cary, North Carolina) as well as the Israel Scholar-in-Residence with CJF Ministries. He served with distinction at the Moody Bible Institute for 18 years, most recently as Professor of Hebrew and Biblical Studies. He and his hospitable wife, Bernice, have three adventurous children and host educational tours throughout the biblical world with Wisdom Passages.
Dr. Jim Tillotson
Jim Tillotson is the president of Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary in Ankeny, Iowa. He has served as president since June of 2015, after serving for 18 years as the senior pastor of Meadowlands Baptist Church in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. During his time in Canada, he led Meadowlands Baptist in planting three new churches and helped begin a Christian school and a small Bible institute.
Jim holds Bachelor of Arts (1990) and Master of Ministry (2002) degrees from Northland Baptist Bible College. In 2016, Bob Jones University conferred an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree on him. Jim serves on the council of Baptist Mid-Missions and the board of Grand View Camp in Eagar, Arizona.
In his short time as president, Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary has witnessed a revival in student enrollment, an uptick in financial giving, and the completion of several campus construction and renovation projects.
Jim and his wife, Joan, have three children: Anne, who resides in Canada with her husband, Pavel, and their son, Ethan; Tim, a Faith graduate, married to Kellie; and Beth, a Faith graduate and engaged to be married to Joel Graham in September.
For over 20 years, Evangelist Ben Everson has been blessing believers with melodic music that encourages their hearts. Both his one-man a cappella arrangements and his original songs are favorites of pastors, Christian workers, school teachers and children alike. His motto is “Be Encouraged,” and he and his family travel year-round in revival meetings and concerts.

What does the schedule look like for the conference?

What childcare is available?
We encourage you and your spouse to come by yourselves, but we will provide nursery and child care for children (birth through age 5) during the general sessions and the workshops. Register your children when you register for the conference.
What is the dress code?
Dress code for the Refresh Conference is business casual.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
If you realize that you are unable to attend Refresh Conference after registering, here are the options available to you:
- Full refund (must cancel by January 19, 2021, to receive full refund).
- Transfer your paid registration to another ministry couple.
- Transfer your registration payment to your registration for Refresh 2022.

We invite fundamental, Bible-believing organizations to display at the Refresh Conference, so you can interact with pastors and Christian leaders about your ministry or product. We also invite exhibitors as well as those who cannot exhibit to place an ad in our conference book. All of the exhibits will be located in the Nettleton Center, making them easily accessible to all attendees. Each exhibit space will include an 8′ table.
