“Texas,” “Oklahoma,” “New York?” were some of the answers from a group of 35 Faith students who were asked where our school located before moving to Ankeny, Iowa. When asked in what year our school began, answers ranged from 1805 to 1989. When asked who our school’s first president and founder was, the majority of the students could not give a name. Smiling, one of the students sheepishly said, “You know, that is a great question. I should probably, know that, shouldn’t I?”
History is progressively lost with each generation of students unless those students are educated and reminded of how the Lord has brought Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary to where it is today. Alumni Hall will be an area on campus dedicated to our school’s history, featuring rich stories of our heritage and key dates for our school’s important events.
Alumni Hall will be located in the foyer area of the Nettleton Center where the concession stand is located. The trophy case will be remodeled to represent three aspects of our school’s ministry—sports, music, and summer teams. We plan to upgrade the concession area and add seating with monitors to watch the athletic events in the gym. The walls and pillars will be covered with historical timelines and tributes to professors and presidents who made our school what it is today. We also hope to put in new flooring to give the area a visual upgrade to distinguish it from other areas on campus.
Alumni Hall is a project that we want to do with excellence, and we even hope to have it in progress by Homecoming 2017. However, we need your support through personal skills, prayers, and financial gifts to make this a reality.
An opportunity to participate in Alumni Hall while honoring those you love is through sponsoring a brick. Each sponsored brick receives a plaque that will display the person’s name, their association to Faith or years attended, and a personalized phrase. We hope to fill all the bricks surrounding the display case with plaques that represent various alumni, professors, mission trips, athletic teams, and supporting churches.
Please consider how you can help us educate future generations of students about our school’s rich heritage—a heritage full of men and woman who trusted God and made sacrifices to be used by Him, making the school what it is today.
Email alumni@faith.edu with any questions! Donate now towards Alumni Hall by selecting the “Alumni Projects” fund and designating your donation for a brick in the comment section of the form.
