Celebration of the Century Reminder and Update!

The Celebration of the Century is now just five weeks away! We are so excited to celebrate our 100th birthday with all of our closest friends, neighbors, churches, alumni, and Faith Family. Please pray for great weather for the day and evening of October 8, 2021!
Here are some key details you’ll want to know ahead of time for the afternoon and evening of Friday, October 8.

Schedule
1:45 PM Men’s soccer vs. Ozark Christian (Pyche Field)
3:00 PM Food trucks, inflatables, and alumni gatherings
(Lawn between Patten Library and Jordan/Gray Hall; Alumni gatherings in Gray Hall)
4:00 PM Volleyball vs. Ozark Christian (Nettleton Gymnasium)
6:00 PM The Main Event: Special guests, outdoor concert by Faith ensembles, fireworks
(Lawn between Brong Hall and Taylor Hall)
8:00 PM Alumni volleyball (Nettleton Gymnasium)
Parking
We are anticipating a large number of people for this event. The Nettleton parking lot, Jordan Hall parking lot, and Patten Library parking lots will be your best options. Side streets are also options. There will be parking attendants to assist with parking from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Food Trucks
We are expecting to have 8 food trucks on location. They will be located in our “food court area” in the large area of lawn between Jordan Hall/Gray Hall and Patten Library. There will be a wide mix of food options available for purchase, including barbeque, burgers, comfort foods, street tacos, standard American cuisine, cookies, mini-donuts, coffee, and ice cream.
Inflatables
There will be plenty of fun for the kids! We have reserved two inflatables that will be in operation from 3 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. on October 8. They will be located in the grassy area to the north of Patten Library.
Seating
Bring your lawn chair or blanket, or arrive early to grab a chair! Chairs will be limited to the first 1,000 people and will be set up several hours prior to the 6 p.m. Main Event.

Weather and Dress
Pray for great weather! There is no dress code for the evening. Come casual and wear your favorite sweatshirt. Early October evenings in Iowa are generally cool, but pleasant.
