When you’re a college student in the field of education, it’s easy to get caught up in the neat rows of desks, stellar report cards, and glowing performance reviews.

But education stretches far beyond the walls of a classroom. It lays the foundation for a child to be nurtured and reminded that he is created in the image of God.

Dr. Jim BennettDr. Jim Bennett was the guest speaker at Educators’ Enlist this past weekend at Faith Baptist Bible College. He spoke with deep passion, encouraging teachers to see their role in providing a safe and loving environment where children can learn and grow. “As an educator, you don’t need extensive tools and equipment to make a lifelong impact on a child’s life,” he shared.

Our students had the opportunity not only to interact with Dr. Bennett but also to meet administrators and representatives from more than 30 schools. They connected with school leaders to learn about teaching opportunities across the U.S. and the Marianas.

“Faith has a unique strength in the way it gives each student a ministry heart for the area where God is calling them,” shared Jared Baldwin, a representative from Harvest Ministries on Guam. “We value making the trip here to connect with students who are a strong cultural fit… because we are entrusting the most valuable thing in the world to these students—our children.”

School Displayers at Educators' EnlistSchools are eager to hire Faith graduates. One representative from Oregon explained that although he only needed one or two teachers, it was worth the trip each year to build relationships with these students because they are trained, prepared, and classroom-ready.

On Friday morning during chapel as part of Educators’ Enlist, the student teachers gathered on the platform for a time of prayer for their upcoming teaching placements. This semester, eight student teachers are taking the Word to the world—from the small towns of Iowa to the mountains of Peru. In just a few months, they will walk across the platform to receive their diplomas and begin their lifelong calling of impacting the next generation for the cause of Christ.
