The school year at Faith Baptist Bible College has come to a close, but that isn’t stopping students from taking the Word to the World this summer. Two Summer Ministry Teams will embark on a journey to reach hundreds of campers across the United States.

The Contenders will serve at Iowa Regular Baptist Camp (IRBC) from June to August, engaging in an array of activities that include counseling, helping with day-to-day operations and activities of the camp, and speaking biblical truth to campers. Team Impact will travel to six different camps, serving alongside camp staff in both counseling and support roles. Team members share an intense passion for people, devotion to the Word of God, and a consistent desire to serve others. Both teams are official representatives of Faith.

The Contenders

The members of the 2022 Contenders are Carson Odle, Emily Anderson, Grant Brower, Jay Froah, Logan Lindow, and Sara Tolosa. Some of them have been to IRBC multiple times, but for others, like Logan Lindow, it is an entirely new experience. Lindow, from Florida, is looking forward to the summer and is ready to learn about the camp and its ministry to the community of Iowa churches. He is excited for the discipleship opportunities and cultivated relationships this summer will bring and is anxious to put into action all the knowledge he has gained from his classes at Faith.

“I’m excited for discipleship with my other teammates,” said Logan, “as well as the close relationships where we are pushing each other toward Christ, and the whole new experience of being a Contender.”

Team Impact

The students on Team Impact this year are Abby Speichinger, Ali Lundberg, Christian Banks, Dori Linscott, and Seth Freeman. They will be ministering to a vast number of campers and camp staff. Hours on the road may be long, but the team is thrilled for the opportunity.

Soon-to-be senior Abby Speichinger commented, “I’m just really looking forward to getting to minister to a lot of different people, as well as growing through opportunities to counsel people.” She is also anticipating the growth in her relationships. “I’m so excited to do things with my team!”

The Summer Ministry Teams are comprised of students who love God and love others. They truly live out Matthew 22:37-39 when Jesus says, “’You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”

Please join in praying for the Contenders and Team Impact as they travel this summer, knowing that God will utilize them to plant spiritual seeds and draw others closer to Him.
