Faith Baptist Bible College is excited to announce the hiring of Mr. Joaquin Peña as the new dean of students. He and his family will be moving from Atlanta, Georgia, and Joaquin will begin his responsibilities as dean on August 21, 2023.

Mr. Peña earned a B.S. in Youth Ministries from Northland Baptist Bible College, a Master of Ministry from Northland International University, and a Master in Biblical Ministry at The Master’s Seminary. He will be starting his Doctor of Ministry in Shepherding and Discipleship from Faith Baptist Theological Seminary.

Joaquin has a wide range of ministry experience in different locations throughout the years. He served at Iglesia Bautista Cristiana (Baptist Christian Church) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in a variety of roles, some of which include overseeing youth and worship, directing the junior and senior high discipling and counseling department, teaching at the seminary, and serving on staff.  While ministering at Harvest Ministries in Guam, he was the dean of students, taught classes, and served on the pastoral staff. Joaquin served at Brookside Baptist Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin, as the Spanish pastor; he was also involved in their college and career group and in community outreach. Most recently, he was a church planter and trainer, and he started Gospel Hope Español.

Joaquin and his wife Megan first met as teenagers on Megan’s first mission trip to the Dominican Republic. They later dated in college and married in 2007. They have five beautiful children, from the ages of two to thirteen. They enjoy outdoor activities, sports, eating good food, and singing as a family.

“My heart resonates with Faith’s mission of ‘the Word to the World,’” said Joaquin. “My life was influenced by missionaries who lived this out. My passion remains to train the next generation while investing my life into theirs. I’m excited to help students take their next spiritual step and equip them to make disciples around the world!”
