It won’t take 2022 Faith Baptist Bible College (FBBC) graduate Joe Turman very long to put all of his classroom learning and knowledge to the test. Turman has been named the new dean of men at FBBC. He will begin his duties this fall, after a busy summer that includes marrying his fiancée, Lydia, and beginning life together in Ankeny.

Joe is a Minnesota native. He graduated with highest honors this spring with a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Studies, and has been a leader on campus throughout his time at Faith, serving as the senior class president, resident advisor, and chaplain of the Student Association. He intends to complete additional training at Faith Baptist Theological Seminary while serving as the dean of men.

“My desire is to see God use me to further His work of change in the students who come through the Student Life Department,” said Joe. “I will be working primarily with Deepen Group Leaders as well as with others whom I cross paths with. I especially desire to see Christ magnified and His gospel spread through discipleship on campus and especially in the local church!”

Joe enjoys biking, traveling, brewing coffee, and great food. He is a member of Altoona Regular Baptist Church. He is replacing Nathan Patefield, who will be moving to Seattle, Washington, to begin a Campus Bible Fellowship ministry on a satellite campus of the University of Washington.
