Choral Festival Featuring Composer Dan Forrest
We welcomed over 150 students representing six Christian schools, homeschool choirs, and individual participants to campus for a weekend of music, learning, and worship.
Throughout the festival weekend, students participated in rehearsals, clinics, and workshops led by Faith faculty, focusing on topics such as vocal health, effective practice habits, accompanying techniques, and audition preparation. Each visiting choir also enjoyed personalized clinic sessions designed to refine their ensemble sound and strengthen musical skills.
A highlight of the weekend was the opportunity to work with guest artist and acclaimed composer Dan Forrest, who joined rehearsals and accompanied the Festival Chorus—an ensemble combining all visiting choirs and Faith’s own student musicians. Forrest also held a special Q&A session with Faith’s music majors and minors, offering insight into his creative process, composition techniques, and the role of faith in music.
The festival concluded with a public concert featuring the Festival Chorus and the Faith choirs, celebrating both the beauty of God’s gift of music and the joy of collaborating together with students, teachers, and guest artists.
