ANKENY, Iowa—Faith Baptist Bible College has partnered with Mercy College of Health Sciences, Des Moines, Iowa, to offer a new nursing program that provides an opportunity for students to earn two degrees in four years.
Here is how this new dual-degree program works. Students take three years of classes at Faith. Coursework includes classes in Faith’s Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies program as well as the prerequisite nursing courses needed to qualify for admission to Mercy College’s 12-month accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program.
During their third year of study, students apply for admission to Mercy College’s accelerated BSN and choose which semester to begin the program. All eligible Faith students are guaranteed a place in Mercy’s accelerated BSN program. After completing coursework in the accelerated one-year program at Mercy, students graduate in the same semester with their AA in Biblical studies from Faith and their BSN from Mercy College. They are also eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN exam).
We believe this new program includes significant benefits beyond what students will learn in the classroom. This partnership allows Faith students to live in Faith’s residence halls and be active members of Faith’s campus life throughout the program. Further, this partnership allows Faith and Mercy College to grant dual credit for applicable classes, increasing the efficiency and affordability of both programs.
For over 100 years, Faith Baptist Bible College has desired to take the Word to the world, and the Lord has allowed us to do this in a variety of ways. The ways may change or increase in number, but our focus remains the same: we are just as committed today to preparing students who have hearts for ministry as we have been for over a century.
We are excited that this partnership with Mercy College allows us to offer our students a pathway to take the Word to the world by faithfully serving Him in healthcare here and abroad.
