Maintenance Technician
Position Details
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC support.
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings, facilities, and equipment for proper operation and safety.
- Respond to maintenance work orders and complete assigned repairs in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with housekeeping and grounds departments when needed to maintain campus cleanliness and appearance.
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe and proper working condition.
Supervisory Responsibilities
May supervise or assist in coordinating student workers, summer workers, or volunteer work groups on specific tasks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance practices.
- Requires effective communication and interpersonal skills when working with staff, students, and outside contractors.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance problems independently or as part of a team.
- Requires a strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Must have ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry heavy items during an 8-hour shift.
- Must be comfortable using ladders and working in various weather conditions.
Academic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in general maintenance or facility services preferred.
