Last week, Faith Baptist Bible College had the pleasure of hosting the Mid-America Association of Christian Schools (MAACS) Bible, Academics, and Fine Arts Competition. The Bible competition began on Wednesday, March 17, with the Bible quizzing portion of the competition. Competitors memorized multiple Scripture passages and were quizzed on the context and meanings of the Scripture.

The fine arts competition began on Thursday morning with an opening devotional by Dr. Matt Williams, director of the competition. The fine arts competition consisted of various speech, art, and music categories. Art categories included paintings, drawings, sculptures, garment construction, and woodworking. Music categories included large and small instrumental and vocal ensembles, sacred and classical piano, strings, woodwinds, brass, vocal solos, and large group performances from choirs, bands, and orchestra.

On Thursday evening, there was a miniature concert which consisted of three choir performances by Cornerstone Family Home School, a handbell performance by Calvary Baptist Academy, and several pieces from the FBBC Chorale, Chamber Choir, and Handbells. The concert concluded with a beautiful performance of “O God Beyond All Praising” from the FBBC Chorale and the Maranatha Baptist Academy choir.

The competition ended on Friday afternoon with an awards ceremony and several performances from the winners of the choir, piano, and ensemble categories.

It is always a pleasure to have these amazingly-talented students on campus, sharing their God-given talent and skills.

“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
