ANKENY, Iowa—Faith Baptist Bible College is hosting a 30-hour training summit June 14-17, 2022, on the topic of dyslexia in the classroom. This seminar is designed to help teachers understand how small changes in classroom teaching can make a big difference in the lives of students who struggle with dyslexia. Completion of the course will count toward two Iowa Teaching License renewal credits or 30 contact hours of continuing education for AACS certification.

Three highly-qualified and passionate instructors on the topic of dyslexia will lead the summit. Each have their own unique experiences, training, and success stories:

  • Cindy Hall: Cindy is a graduate of Faith Baptist Bible College and is the founding director of the Dyslexia Center at Lindsay Lane Christian Academy in Athens, Alabama. After spending a decade developing a dyslexia friendly school and seeing the positive impact that environment had on the entire school, it is her passion to help teachers understand how best to foster success in the dyslexic students sitting in their classrooms through sharing characteristics and best practices.
  • Suzanna Greer: Suzanna is the head of Orton-Gillingham Training and Instruction at Camperdown Academy in Greenville, South Carolina. She has invested two decades teaching and leading teams in schools specialized for dyslexics, and she passionately believes that dyslexics succeed when given instruction that meets their needs. She is excited about sharing her knowledge to equip other educators to use the principles of the OG Approach.
  • Amber Coggin: Amber is the founder of Coggin Dyslexia Services, LLC. She fell in love with helping dyslexic children after discovering her daughter is dyslexic.

Faith Baptist Bible College is offering this seminar, including on-campus apartment housing, meals, and training materials for $625 per person. The price for training and materials without housing and meals is $450.  Full payment and registration for the summit is due May 31, 2022.
