Students Grow Spiritually, Athletically at Sports Camp

Faith Baptist Bible College held its annual Summer Sports Camps from June 14 through June 19, 2021. With over 150 athletes and coaches in attendance, campers participated in rigorous athletic training led by Faith coaches, including:

Men’s Basketball: Coaches Brian Fincham & Justin Keck

Women’s Basketball: Coach Monty Kaufman

Men’s Soccer: Coaches Gary Backous & Bill Carlton

Women’s Soccer: Coaches Zack and Katie Barron

Volleyball: Coaches Lanny Nihart, Tim Nihart, and Erin Davis

In addition to Faith’s coaching staff, several current and former Eagle athletes returned to campus to assist with the camps.

Soccer and volleyball camp started each day with a devotional from Pastor Dennis St. Lawrence, while Coach/Pastor Monty Kaufman led the devotional for basketball camp. Throughout the day campers would participate in a series of drills and scrimmages to grow in their knowledge and understanding of the various sports. After the evening meal, Pastor’s St. Lawrence and Kaufman presented another spiritual challenge to the campers. Due to the unique format of the camp, many students were able to receive instruction in multiple sports while on campus. As a result, they were able to grow in their relationships with one another and learn to work together as a team.

Summer Sports Camps are a great way for students to grow in their athletic ability, and more importantly, grow in their relationship with Christ. Mark your calendars now for next year’s camps, June 13-18, 2022!
