Faith Baptist Bible College (FBBC) is pleased to announce that Dr. Dennis Wilkening will be taking on the additional role of Director of Student Life beginning this fall. Dr. Wilkening is currently an Assistant Professor at Faith Baptist Bible College.

Dr. Wilkening’s appointment to this position is a natural fit, given his extensive experience in ministry and his deep commitment to the spiritual growth and well-being of students. He joined the faculty at FBBC as a professor of Biblical Counseling, having previously served as the lead pastor at First Baptist Church of Colville, Washington, for 11 years. His ministry in Colville saw significant growth, with the church tripling in size and over 170 salvations in a decade, demonstrating his strong emphasis on evangelism.

Dr. Dennis WilkeningPrior to his time in Washington, Dr. Wilkening held pastoral positions as a Youth Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church in Ashland, Ohio, and as an Assistant Pastor at Christchurch Baptist Fellowship in Houston, Texas. These roles provided him with valuable experience in working directly with young people and understanding the unique challenges and opportunities they face.

His years in pastoral ministry have equipped him with a strong understanding of discipleship, an area in which he is well trained. He is also a Certified ACBC Biblical Counselor. This extensive training in biblical counseling provides him with the skills necessary to offer guidance and support to students as they navigate their college years.

In a previous announcement regarding his hiring as professor of Biblical Counseling, Dr. Wilkening expressed his excitement about “equipping [students] with the tools to bring others the life-changing hope of the Gospel.” This passion for discipleship and his desire to see students grow in their faith align perfectly with the responsibilities of the Director of Student Life.

His experience with a significant influx of new believers at his previous church provided him with abundant opportunities for counseling and discipleship, further preparing him to mentor and guide the diverse student body at FBBC.

Dr. Wilkening’s enthusiasm for ministry and his proven track record of leadership make him an ideal candidate to foster a thriving and supportive environment for the students of Faith. His understanding of student needs, coupled with his strong biblical foundation and counseling expertise, will make him a great asset to the students in his new capacity.
