Faith Athletics Headed to Nationals in Three Sports!

It’s an exciting season for Faith Baptist Bible College athletics! Four of our Eagle teams—men’s cross country, women’s cross country, volleyball, and men’s soccer—are headed to Nationals, marking one of the most successful fall seasons in history.

Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams will compete on the national stage this weekend on Friday, November 14, at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, Missouri.

Volleyball

For the third year in a row, the Lady Eagles volleyball team punched their ticket to the NCCAA DII National Tournament. Under the leadership of Regional Coach of the Year Lanny Nihart, the team has become a perennial powerhouse. This year’s squad—anchored by several all-region players—has shown great teamwork and a determination to take the next step at the national tournament in Joplin, Missouri.

Men’s Soccer

The Faith men’s soccer team is celebrating a huge milestone—qualifying for Nationals for the first time since 2015! Their hard-fought final match ended in a tie after a thrilling comeback to even the score with 30 seconds left in regulation.

Men's Soccer 2025 Regional ChampionsAfter two scoreless overtime periods, the championship was decided by an exciting shootout that secured their place at Nationals. The team features several All-Region players, including Player of the Year Austin Lundberg. Head Coach Gary Backous, who was named Coach of the Year, has provided steady leadership and consistent discipleship throughout the season.
