In April of 2025, Dr. Les Ollila announced to the student body that he and Charlene would be relocating closer to family due to Charlene’s health needs. Though their presence is missed here in Iowa, Doc O’s occasional visits continue to bless the student body at Faith Baptist Bible College.
After serving in various ministries throughout the years, God led Dr. Ollila and his wife to serve at FBBC. While ministering as campus chaplain for 5 years, Doc O and his wife continued to demonstrate their heart for ministry, as they impacted lives for eternity.
Interestingly, several of the people the Ollilas impacted while in Ankeny are children of those whom they had previously ministered to at Northland Baptist Bible College in northern Wisconsin. While recently reflecting on the spirit here at Faith, Doc O likened it to the atmosphere at Northland, which alumni recall for its emphasis on servant-leadership, discipleship, and walking in the Spirit.
We thank God for these faithful servants and their faithfulness as they model a heart for ministry, servant-leadership, discipleship, and Spirit-filled living. Please pray for the Ollilas, as they adjust to this transition. Pray for their health and that God’s glory would continue to be made known through their lives and those to whom they minister.
