Rebecca Franklin at the PianoWhen you first meet Rebecca, you may not guess that beneath her friendly smile lies a passion for classical music and ancient languages. But this bilingual missionary kid from Brasil has spent her college years pursuing a unique combination that speaks volumes about her heart—a B.A. in Sacred Music with emphases in Piano Pedagogy and Greek.

It’s an uncommon pairing (we haven’t looked at the records, but this one is pretty rare among our students), but it makes perfect sense when Rebecca talks about it. For her, these seemingly different disciplines share a common purpose—drawing her closer to God and helping others do the same.

Of course, her journey at Faith has been about more than just academics. Between piano practice sessions and Greek vocabulary review, Rebecca has found time both to be discipled and pour into others. “Seeing how God’s Word convicts, heals, and guides has been life-changing.”

As a missionary kid, Rebecca witnessed God’s provision firsthand throughout her life. Her time at Faith has only reinforced those lessons of faith and trust. “For now, I am learning to trust in God’s guidance, even when the full picture isn’t clear,” she admits with the confidence of someone who has seen God work before.

Looking toward graduation, Rebecca’s plans reflect the same thoughtful approach that guided her unique academic path. She hopes to continue her studies in seminary while discipling the girls in her youth group. Wherever her future ministry leads her, she is committed to discipling others, offering hospitality, and ministering wherever God calls.

Rebecca’s story isn’t just about what she has learned in the classroom—it’s about how God has used Faith to shape her heart for ministry.
