It was a day filled with smiles and celebration last Friday as hundreds gathered together to celebrate Faith’s Commencement and a special Groundbreaking Ceremony for its new Office and Music Building.

Despite the rainy conditions, the clouds broke just long enough for an aerial photo of the building’s outline over the area where the building will be located.  The outline was formed by Faith students, faculty, staff, and visitors, including members of Faith’s Board of Directors who stood on pre-painted lines of the building’s footprint.   Joshua Huang, a Faith alumnus, used his drone to take the picture high in the sky as the crowd gazed upward.

After the aerial photo, Dr. Jim Tillotson and Pastor Patrick Odle, Chairman of the Faith Board of Directors, officially broke ground by turning over the first shovel of dirt, much to the delight of the crowd as they witnessed a historic moment on campus.  Dr. Tillotson followed the groundbreaking with a few words about the building and Pastor Odle concluded with a prayer of dedication.

The new Office and Music Building will be located between Jordan Hall and the Nettleton Center and will house eight music practice rooms, staff and faculty offices, and Faith’s Information Technology Department.  It will also allow the Student Life Department to move back into the Nettleton Center once construction is complete.

Construction is expected to start in the next week or two and be completed sometime during the 2018-19 school year.  If you would like to donate toward this project, you can do so by clicking this link or by calling us at 515-964-0601.
