Faith Baptist Bible College is excited to announce the hiring of Mrs. Melissa Whitcher as an assistant professor in the Christian School Department at Faith.

Mrs. Whitcher graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College with her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in 2000. She is currently completing her Master in Educational Leadership at Texas A&M.

After working as a homeschool supervisor in the Des Moines area from 2002 until 2005, Melissa and her husband David became missionaries with Baptist Church Planters as the director of Spanish ministries. From 2014 to present, she has taught fourth grade and sixth grade English and math in the state of Texas.

Melissa loves to read, do puzzles, take walks with her husband, and spend time at the beach. She is excited about her move to Iowa and to teach in the classrooms she once learned in during her days as a college student at Faith. Melissa is anxious to share her philosophy of teaching with her students next fall:

“Everything I do in my classroom is tied to a Biblical principle or verse.  II Timothy 3:16-17 is so true: ‘All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work’ (NKJV).  We do all of this in our classrooms, we teach, we reprove, we correct and instruct, and God tells us how best to do all of it! I am excited to show how God’s Word prepares us to be successful and loving teachers.”
